Rosemary Shapes Tickle is an emerging composer, producer, performer and human with an interest in music about stories, fragments, environments and memory, whose music has been performed in the UK and abroad. In addition to composing concert music for solo instrumentalists, small and large instrumental ensembles and voice, she produces soundtracks and electronic music under the moniker Lying Pink.
A 2024 RNCM Gold Medal finalist and recipient of the Patricia Cunliffe Prize, Rosemary is studying a MMus in Composition, thanks to generous financial support from the Vaughan Williams Foundation.
Rosemary's current compositional inspirations include childhood wonder, BDSM and rabbits. Ongoing projects include an audiovisual project on relationship anarchy, a choral setting of Sappho fragments, and a work for electronics, fixed media and found percussion on environment and memory.
Rosemary currently lives in Didsbury. When not composing, they can be found drinking tea or napping.
