About

Rosemary Shapes Tickle is an emerging composer, producer and human with an interest in music about stories, environments and journeys, whose music has been performed in the UK and abroad. In addition to composing concert music for solo instrumentalists, small and large instrumental ensembles and voice, she produces soundtracks and electronic music under the moniker Lying Pink.

A 2024 RNCM Gold Medal finalist and recipient of the Patricia Cunliffe Prize, Rosemary is studying a MMus in Composition, thanks to generous financial support from the Vaughan Williams Foundation.

Rosemary's current compositional inspirations include the sapphic tension between a river and a canal, Breton werewolves, and beachcombing. Ongoing projects include an audiovisual project on relationship anarchy, a soundtrack to a queer retelling of the twelve dancing princesses, and a work for electronics, fixed media and found percussion on environment and memory.

Rosemary currently lives in Salford. When not composing, they can be found drinking tea or napping.
